This meaningful gathering will feature inspiring speakers, captivating music, a pre recorded musical performance by the AFO, and a special dance performance by Samia Karimi. We are honored to have Saiema Sultani, a writer and women’s rights activist, and Muzhda Akbari, a young leader and girls’ rights advocate, as our featured speakers. Additionally, Sohila Noori, an Afghan young girl will recite her own poem she wrote reflecting the girl’s situation in Afghanistan and finally, Dunya Artal will showcase her powerful artwork.

Please join us for this significant event and show your support for the Afghan people.

َAugust 15th is the 3rd year/anniversary of Afghanistan under the Taliban’s horrific and extremist regime. Throughout our history, this is not the first time Afghanistan is facing such a dark day, unfortunately.

There have been several of these kinds of events in the past as well. But What makes this occasion stand out most is probably because this has happened within our lifetime and generation.

At AFO we feel our responsibility to raise our voice for what is going on in Afghanistan and the world. We want to make sure the stories, talents, braveries and courage to be told that have been unheard.

We want to express our profound and deep frustration, sadeness our our sister’s rights, justice and freedom that have been taken away from them. Although Afghanistan being a conservative, Islamic and patriarchal society women have been under oppression and have not been treated the way it should be.

In this event we extend gratitude for our sisters courage and bravery for not only standing and raising their voice for their rights but also standing against fundamentalists, terrorists who are leading and taking Afghanistan into darker days.

We would also like to acknowledge and embrace the struggle of our sisters in Iran for taking steps in leading their society into a better situation, the war in Ukraine, innocent people dying between “Hamas” and Israel, and the injustice and violence in several other parts of the world.

We stand for equality and justice. In the shade to promote peace, freedom and positive change into the world.

Wish, hope, fight and put steps for a better world!
