Marzia’s journey began in the remote village of Takhar province in Northern Afghanistan. At a very young age, she found refuge and hope in the AFCECO orphanages, where her passion for music began to flourish. Guided by her unwavering dedication, she honed her skills at Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM), where she embraced the transformative power of music.
However, the tragic events of August 15, 2021, cast a dark cloud over Marzia’s homeland. As the Taliban seized control and imposed severe restrictions, including the ban on music education, Marzia made a courageous decision. She fled to Qatar, seeking a safe haven from where she could continue her musical journey. With unwavering determination, she set her sights on resettling in Portugal, where she could pursue her passion freely.
In 2022, a remarkable opportunity graced Marzia’s path, as she and her fellow classmates had the privilege of performing and playing music with the legendary Yo-Yo Ma during his visit to the Afghan music school in Portugal. This extraordinary experience not only showcased Marzia’s exceptional talent but also underscored her unwavering commitment to her craft, even in the face of adversity.
Currently, Marzia finds herself in Germany, immersing herself in the pursuit of music and general studies to complete her education. Her resilience, perseverance, and thirst for knowledge serve as a testament to her extraordinary character and unwavering determination to overcome any obstacle in her path.

Zaki’s musical journey began during his childhood, where his innate curiosity and passion for music sparked a deep interest in the art form. He nurtured his talent and honed his skills at Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM). It was at ANIM that he discovered his affinity for the piano, using it as a foundation to further develop his musical abilities.
Throughout his career, Zaki has been blessed with an incredible support system consisting of a devoted network of family and friends who have stood firmly by his side, providing unwavering encouragement and support. Their belief in his artistic path has fueled his determination to overcome challenges and create a lasting impact through his music.
Zaki’s artistic prowess has taken him to numerous regional countries, where he has proudly represented Afghan music on various prestigious platforms. Ebrahim Mohamadi
Santur
Ebrahim Mohammadi was born in Afghanistan and grew up in Iran. He learned Santur back in Iran. After studying Santur for many years in a professional manner He began teaching in Iran.
In 2019 Ebrahim returned to Afghanistan with his family to his homeland Herat, Afghanistan.
After finding out about Afghanistan’s only music School, Ebrahim was asked to teach Santur at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music for a while as a guest teacher.
While he was teaching he found a lot in Afghan Music and discovered how Afghan music is ancient and colorful. Then Ebrahim was fortunate to write a book on Afghan Folk music and songs for Santur.
After his time teaching in Kabul at ANIM, he returned back to Herat and started teaching Santur there as well.
After August 15, 2021, when the Tablian took over and banned millions of Afghans from studying music (or at all), He found his way to Qatar and aimed to resettle in Portugal with ANIM.
Ebrahim is working hard and hopes to make a bright future and will be able to bring peace through this great tool.

Alongside her talented classmates, she had the extraordinary opportunity to perform and play music with the legendary Yo-Yo Ma during his visit to the Afghan music school in Portugal. This momentous occasion not only showcased Sevinch’s exceptional talent but also affirmed her dedication to her craft and highlighted her as a rising star in the world of music.
As the concertmaster for the Zohra Orchestra, Afghanistan’s first all-female ensemble, Sevinch has left an indelible mark on the global stage. For several years, she has passionately led the orchestra, serving as a beacon of inspiration for young Afghan artists. Currently, Sevinch’s artistic journey has led her to the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory of Braga in Portugal, where she continues to expand her musical horizons. Born and raised in Afghanistan, Mohsin’s passion for music blossomed as he studied and learned the craft within his homeland. Following his graduation from high school, he embarked on a remarkable journey, forming a band at AFCECO, the very organization that nurtured and supported him. As the leader of his band, Mohsin and his talented companions took to the stages of Kabul, captivating audiences with their renditions of Afghan music, as well as his own mesmerizing compositions.
Mohsin’s dedication to music extended beyond his performances. He also became an instructor, sharing his knowledge of the clarinet and Western Music Theory at Afghanistan National Institute of Music. Through his teaching, he inspired countless young musicians and played a vital role in preserving and promoting Afghan musical traditions.
However, like many other Afghan musicians, Mohsin’s path took an unexpected turn after August 15, 2021. Faced with tremendous challenges and forced to leave his beloved homeland, he found solace and a new beginning in Spain. With unwavering determination, Mohsin sets his sights on furthering his education, with the ultimate goal of becoming a leader who can contribute to the rebuilding of Afghanistan through the power of music.
Even in the face of displacement, Mohsin remains committed to his artistic endeavors. Currently, he is working on an ambitious project that combines music and theater, a testament to his creativity and innovative spirit.
